Okay y’all. I know I’m hella late on this, but hear me out. I have a good reason. I’ve heard nothing but great things about the Maybelline Fit Me Matte+Poreless Foundation and I’ve been dying to try it.ย However!ย For the longest, the shade selection was super limited. I mean it only went from Winona Ryder to Halle Berry. I wanted to try it so badly that I even bought the darkest shade I could find in stores and online, which was Coconut 355. Chiiilllleeee, I knew better, but the Instagram and YouTube beauty gurus had me gassed. This was about 2 years ago. I didn’t even bother to take pictures because it was just that bad that I didn’t want evidence of my fool heartiness.
But any who. I was perusing the Walgreens website on Black Friday just looking for something to throw my money at, and what did I see? ย The Maybelline Fit Me Matte+Poreless in a color deeper than a paper bag. And it was on sale! So bam! I bought it in the shade Mocha 360. Waited patiently for my delivery and did my happy dance onceย I got it.
So let’s discuss how amazed I am in a foundation I paid less than $5 dollars for. It blended out so easily. The coverage was surprisingly good. I did need to use concealer for my darker acne scars, but the overall coverage is beautiful. Although it is supposed to be a matte finish, I find that it provides a nice glow without looking greasy or oily. After finishing the rest of my face and setting with the Maybelline Fit Me Matte+Poreless Powder in the same shade of Mocha 360. I can’t remember my skin looking this amazing with any of my high end foundations.
Now about how well it lasted throughout the day. Please note that I first tried this foundation in the fall so the weather is cool and I don’t have to worry as much about my skin getting super oily. So I’ll have to update my review during the summer. But for the fall/winter weather it performed amazingly. I usually have to worry about matte finish foundations drying out my skin in the cold weather, but my skin remained feeling moisturized. I did have a bit of oiliness and had to blot throughout the day, but that’s nothing out of the ordinary for me. The one downside I noted was one that I’ve been having with all my foundations lately. It settles into my laugh lines and makes them look even more prominent. But hey, that’s what I get for aging lol.
All in all, I’m super impressed with this foundation and so glad they extended the shade range.
