My Journey To Better Brows

My Journey To Better Brows

I tend to go through makeup phases. At one point it was finding the best foundations. At another, who made the best primer. Currently, I am on the lookout for the best brow products. Whether it’s a pencil, a powder, or a pomade. I was hoping to find a cheaper alternative to the Anastasia Beverly Hills (ABH) Dipbrow Pomade, but alas, I had no such luck. Why so many brow products end up looking gray on me is just…ugh.  So I just bought the Dipbrow Pomade again and threw in the towel. But I will run down a couple of my hits and misses.

Beauty Treat Eyebrow Gel

I picked up the Beauty Treat Eyebrow Gel from Cielle.com. There were only 2 color options available, Soft Brown and Espresso Brown. I picked up Espresso Brown. I wasn’t impressed. The consistency was too creamy and it came off gray on my skin tone.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow

My favorite brow product to my frugal dismay. Halp! Perfect consistency and matches my hair color just right. This can be an intimidating brow product, but once you get the hang of it (and a really good angled brush) you’re gucci. I use the shade Ebony.

NYX Tame & Frame

I was so unbelievably disappointed in this product. It was so creamy that it was impossible to place this on the brows precisely. It also came off gray on my skin, which was a complaint I had for a few of these brow products. I tried the shade Espresso.

Milani Stay Put Brow Color

I wanted to love this but, the color was another one that looked gray on me. The consistency was lovely, but the color just didn’t work for me. I chose the shade Dark Brown, since that was the darkest shade offered on Shop Hush. I did find that there are darker shades available so I’ll continue to give this a try, probably in the color Dark Chocolate.

Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil

This has been my go-to product for doing my brows quickly. I absolutely love this pencil. The color is dark enough and isn’t remotely gray on my skin tone. It can look harsh, however, just use a spoolie to soften it and you’re in business. I use the shade #5.

LA Splash Art-ki-tekt Brow Defining Pencil Duo

I gave up on actual brow pencils, the kind you have to sharpen, years ago. They have always looked too harsh and stark to me. But in the spirit of trying new things and my journey to better brows, I decided to try this pencil out since it was on sale. I don’t hate it, but I don’t love it. While I love the color and the consistency of the pencil, I have gotten so accustomed to very thin, precise mechanical pencils, using this was like trying to learn how to fill in my brows over again. You will definitely be using concealer to clean up after using this. I tried the shade Chocolate.

Ulta Beauty Ultra Slim Brow Pencil

This was my go to before I randomly got some extra money to be able to purchase the Benefit Goof Proof pencil. Since money is getting tight again because of my traveling, I’ll probably be going back to this after my Benefit runs out. The color is perfect, the application is easy and precise, and is a really good price. My shade is Dark Brown.
